You may preserve an empty column until you decide to deal from the stock. Any exposed card or legal same-suit group can occupy an empty column. A new stock row fills every empty column with one card. Empty columns remain useful for separating temporary mixed builds.

Keep these points in mind. A stock deal places one card onto each of the ten columns. You cannot direct an individual stock card to a chosen destination. Undo restores the previous arrangement when the stock-deal snapshot is available. Dealing can block an existing sequence as well as reveal new combinations.
